Following the advice of the sage philosopher, Pooh, this blog is a place for me to go where "poetry and hums" might find me. I don't write much poetry but I hope the "hums" herein will speak to me and to you in a positive, heartfelt way.
I have experienced the delight of putting words together for as long as I can remember.
Recently I heard a writing coach say you know you're a writer when you are standing in the Emergency Room with your very sick child and still manage to take notes on the interesting people in the waiting area.
Thus it became clear to me why I always keep a notebook nearby. I've been known to jot down ideas on paper napkins, used envelopes, even the back of my hand. That said some of by best work takes place in the wee hours of the morning when I'm awake enough to be creative but too sleepy to get up and write things down.
Writers write because that's what they do. I write because I have words swirling around inside my head that want to come out in some kind of coherent fashion.
